bird watching in Iran-South

Day 1: TEHRAN

Early in the morning arrive in Tehran. After greeting you will be transferred to the hotel. O/N in Tehran.

Most airlines arrive Late in the evening or early in the morning, Hotels are booked from Day 01.

Day 2: THRAN–AHWAZ

After an early breakfast, we start our exploration with a visit to Eshghabad wetland or jamshidiye park. After bird watching and having lunch will go to the airport to get the flight to Ahwaz. O/N in Ahwaz.

Day 3: AHWAZ

After breakfast drive to Shadegan Intl wetland and do bird Watching there. overnight in Ahwaz.

You may see black-winged stilt, Collared Pratincole, Lesser Spotted Eagle, Steppe Eagle, Mesopotamian crow, Short-toed Eagle, Black-eared Wheatear …

Day 4:AHWAZ-KhoramAbad

We start early in the morning,  drive toward Dez protected area. Bird watching there and visit the oldest ancient civilization, Choghazanbil ziggurat, another WH registered Site, Continue to Khoramabad, the overnight Hotel

You may see Scrub warbler, Iraq babbler, Graceful Prinia, the Egyptian nightjar, Black-winged kit, Pied kingfisher, Clamorous reed warble, Red-wattled plover.

Day 5: KhoramAbad-TEHRAN

Drive to Tehran, En-route visit Meyqan wetland and bird watching there. overnight Tehran.

You may see Common Crane, Bluethroat, Glossy lbis, Water Rail, Greylag geese. Ruddy shelducks, Eurasian lapwing & some Ducks& Waders.

Day 6: TEHRAN-BANDAR ABBAS Tehran

Will visit the National Museum and Golestan Palace. Then we will fly to Bandar Abbas. overnight Bandar Abbas.  

Day 7: BANDAR ABBAS

We start our full-day tour first with a drive along the shore of the Persian Gulf and stop for birding in a suitable place. O/N in Bandar Abbas.

You may see purple sunbird, Dalmatian Pelican House crow, Brown-necked raven, Indian silverbill, hoopoe lark, Sand Lark, Grey Francolin, Saunders’s tern, Indian Roller.

Day 8: BANDAR ABBAS –QESHM

After breakfast go to Qeshm island via ferry. Start exploration of Qeshm by visit Setregan valley, Chah kouh valley, Left village and overnight in the city.

Day 9: QESHM-TEHRAN

Early in the morning start bird watching on the island and after a full day bird watching there, we will fly back to Tehran O/N in Tehran.

You may see: Indian pond Heron, Western Reef Heron, Crab Plover Caspian Tern, Great Stone Plover, Eastern Pied Wheatear, Pied Stonechat, Egyptian Vulture, Peregrine Falcon, Imperial Eagle, Lesser Green Bee-eater.

Day 10: TEHRAN

Transfer to the airport for the return flight.
